We're off again to the state of Guerrero, Mexico, where Waterloo Road Baptist Church has been serving since 1990. Our strategic partnership with STBS, the Baptist Seminary in San Jeronimito, has given us the opportunity to see the world thru missional eyes. This year we celebrate our 21st annual mission trip as a church. Please be in prayer for us this week as we minister thru leadership training seminars, vacation bible schools, evangelism, EvangeCube training, an eyeglasses ministry and just plain old fellowship with our brothers in Christ in the state of Guerrero, Mexico.

Saturday Afternoon at the abandoned elders home...

Saturday afternoon after a 53 minute power nap that wasn't quite long enough, we headed out to one of FIrst Baptist church's other mission points in a place called Las Pozas. Ron Cavanaugh, teacher at the seminary and Canadian missionary and his wife Rose, as well as Alisa Duncan, have been instrumental in starting and building a home for abandoned seniors off the beaten path between Zihua and San Jeronimito. It appears to be about 60% finished. They are allowing First Baptist's group (which is really a house church) to use the facility to put on a VBS there this week.

We showed up, toured the place, divided into teams, got prayed up and went out into the surrounding area to invite folks to the VBS and evangelistic services that will take place in the coming week. The area is unique in that it is filled with small brick-making facilities........ similiar to home-based businesses. There are LOTS of them. Here's some pics of me and my 'posse' out touring the neighborhood and inviting folks. As a group of adolescent boys, they were a little timid about inviting the older guys in the cantina to church, but after I promised them all a coke, they got a lot braver........
