We're off again to the state of Guerrero, Mexico, where Waterloo Road Baptist Church has been serving since 1990. Our strategic partnership with STBS, the Baptist Seminary in San Jeronimito, has given us the opportunity to see the world thru missional eyes. This year we celebrate our 21st annual mission trip as a church. Please be in prayer for us this week as we minister thru leadership training seminars, vacation bible schools, evangelism, EvangeCube training, an eyeglasses ministry and just plain old fellowship with our brothers in Christ in the state of Guerrero, Mexico.

Sunday morning in 'Lomas del Valle' (hills of the valley...? )

It was a great Sunday morning at the church on the dumpsite. I'm reminded that Pastor/Author Erwin McManus of the well known Mosaic Church in LA once built a mission church on a dumpsite near downtown Dallas................. so these folks are in good company :-)

And Pastor Griff never disappoints........ he preached on Mephibosheth (say that 10 times real fast) in 2 Samuel 9. I actually learned a few things myself. We saw a few professions of faith.

But I guess the most uplifting thing for me was the realization that these people took an idea plus nothing plus God and built a faith community in a pretty dark place. I think there's a big lesson there for us short-sighted Americans who sometimes want everything to be just perfect before we launch out on faith to follow the Lord's leading.............. Father give us faith like that ! ......................... I'm just sayin....

And while it might appear that Griff is providing the special music with Seminary student Cynthia as his backup vocalist, he is not. She is actually doing a fabulous job translating. After further discussion, we all agreed that Griff should leave the special music to Kirt Henderson.
