We're off again to the state of Guerrero, Mexico, where Waterloo Road Baptist Church has been serving since 1990. Our strategic partnership with STBS, the Baptist Seminary in San Jeronimito, has given us the opportunity to see the world thru missional eyes. This year we celebrate our 21st annual mission trip as a church. Please be in prayer for us this week as we minister thru leadership training seminars, vacation bible schools, evangelism, EvangeCube training, an eyeglasses ministry and just plain old fellowship with our brothers in Christ in the state of Guerrero, Mexico.

Wednesday....... Leadership Conference and Last day of VBS !

Wednesday morning I went to the Leadership Conference in the morning - I needed to hook up with friend and seminary student Chano to give him a laptop that I had brought down. Marcia recently got a new one so we decided to retire the old one to a vacation home in Zihua :) I also needed to drop off some of the bags of clothes to Wilbert at the Primer Iglesia Bautista de Zihua where the conference was being held.

So, Wednesday afternoon we went back out to the Acilo for the last day of VBS and evangelism. It was raining - I think all the dampness contributed to my loss of my voice and impending sickness. But anyway...... here I am when I could still talk

The VBS theme was the "Big Apple" - the Lifeway VBS material that we had used at First Baptist of Petetlan when I came down in July.

Griff preached the final sermon - and here's the cool part: Santiago came to the service ! (the guy whose yard was in need of a little landscaping) The dude was all smiles and received his New Testament with visible joy. The other visible joy was the big smile on my face - I don't have much faith in the 'ask Jesus into your heart' by 'praying the prayer of salvation' style of evangelism. It is formulaic, not grace based and leaves Jesus out of the picture........ anyway.... we'll talk about that another time. SO, God showed me that indeed, Santiago had been waiting on our visit that afternoon. The idea that God chose him before the beginning of time and KNEW that he had an appointment with me at 4:35pm on Wednesday just blows my mind. It shouldn't but it does........
